Beware Notts Thieves

A word of warning, and also a plea for all you Skoda guys to keep your eyes and ears open.

Went to see Lee Evans in Notts on Sat. My Octy VRS was parked in a bay on a busy well lit street (Pennyfoot street) along with a dozen other cars.

Unfortunately for me, mine was the only one that had the front n/s window smashed, the locked glovebox ripped off, the dashboard wrecked and Sony HU / Sony cd changer / Navman satnav / Sub and Amp / mbl handsfree / CD's / Paul Smith Jacket nicked.

Everything was either LOCKED in glovebox, or hidden away in boot (Hatch), apart from the coat which was behind the drivers seat. :(

A couple of the items arent exactly common - the sony stereo CDX 7710 has a real aluminum face with a large wheel and lots of blue illumination! Also the satnav was almost

I would love to catch somebody doing that, to any car not just one of mine.

Sorry to hear about it and the hassle with the insurers. Keep an eye out on ebay for the stolen property - I'm not suggesting you buy it back but there are ways of finding out where the seller has their registered address. And Nottingham's worth a 2 hour drive to find car thief, I loathe the pestilent creatures.

To be honest, im not sure whether these Skag head losers (suspected culprits at a guess) can use a computer let alone have internet access

Saying that though, i have kept an eye on ebay all day - checking out 'Sellers other items' etc!!

Heard bad things about elephant before :thumbdwn: Hope you get it all sorted though :) These scumbags are parasites that need squishing.

with regards to Elephant, and although its very early stages with my claim, i can safely say that i will not be using them again. :finger::finger::finger:

One (of many) conversation yesterday morning with their claims line op ended with her telling me that i shouldnt try and exaggerate what make / model of stereo i had, as their audio experts (TOAD) will easily be able to tell what equipment i had, by the wiring that was left behind. She also inofmed me that i would require ALL receipts for all items stolen - including the 12 or so CD's!!!! How the f#ck will TOAD know what HU i had frm the ISO wiring loom? And who the f#ck keeps receipts for CD's?

As far as insurance companies are concerned....Norwich Union

I was on holiday in conrwall and wife dropped me camera gear overboard, on the monday we got home I phoned them to claim, claim was settled and I was paid out first class post Tueday morning (Jesspos vouchers)

Ooooooooh Elephant.co.uk.

May end up with a liabel case on my hands but here goes:

When I had my first car (a 1.3i classic Mini - nice) I was insured with elephant and I have to say they were absolutely awful. What kind of insurance company awards you 12 months no claims bonus, but then quotes you a higher premium for your second year with them?

Oh.........and I cannot stand their adverts!!! I preferred the esure adverts with Michael Winner - and that's saying something!

On a lighter note - my mate once caught a **** with the top half of his body through the drivers side window with his legs hanging out of the car. Whilst Im sure you can imagine what he did next, I'll give you a clue - it included a bit of shoving and a phone call to the Police...

 I read not long ago that Nottingham was the worst city in England for crime. Dont know how true that is but it certainly influenced my daughter's decision to not choose Nottingham University. She chose Manchester instead !!!!
