Newbie(ish) shopping list

Featured Replies

I dabbled with 'detailing' a while ago so have a few auto glym/dodo juice products and a door wash pad etc but fancy treating myself to some new products.

Got a new Octavia on order in Race Blue which will be covering around 20k miles a year.

How does the list below sound, any suggestions swapping things out?

Adams H2O guard and gloss as a drying aid (

)

Bilt hamber auto foam

Bilt hamber korrosol

Carpro Tardis

Paragon drying cloth

Auto finesse Citrus power

Carbon collective platinum.

G3 clay mitt

Bilberry wheel cleaner

Wolf's chemicals blackout

Open to ideas for a wax, budget of say £50.

Carpro ironX Lemon Scent.

AG extra gloss protection (sealant)

Pourboys Natty's paste wax

A few ideas

Nothing wrong with that list buddy.

Tardis is made by autosmart though.

Are you looking at using Carbon collective platinum paint sealant or their wheel sealant?

If using their paint sealant, it would be worth getting some IPA to wipe down the paint prior to application as the paintwork needs to be sergically clean before applying it. Dilute the IPA down to around 30%.

Are you looking at polishing prior to remove swirl marks?

Bilt Hamber Finis Wax or Hydra Wax or Double Coat wax

BUT

There are so many for around that price

Do you want durability?

Reflectivity?

Or both?

Do you wax often or find it a chore?

Only when this is anwered, can a recommendation be made

Everyone has their favourites.....another Detailer I know calls them 'Fan Boys'...an apt description

Im a Bilt Hamber Fan Boy..LOL

Thanks for the replies. Would be using the platinum collective as a wheel sealant.

As for wax I'd like a combination of durability and reflectivity. Don't mind waxing in the summer but I'd rather not have to be doing it on a frosty day in the depths of winter so probably err on the durability side.

Then Bilt Hamber Double Speed Wax or Finis Wax are perfect for you:

Thanks Chris, you may end up seeing the car straight out if the dealer as I'm probably going to book it in for a new car preparation to give me a decent Base to start from.
