Hi I'm in the process of changing the rear brake pads on my 2010 VRS Estate.got the old ones out OK but when I windback the caliper piston I cannot get it in far enough to give enough space to refit. Went out and Brough the right windback tool but still had the same problem ( basically the piston won't retract fully). It feels like there is a pressure build up not allowing the piston to fully retract,one thing I considered was opening the bleed valve and giving it another go has anyone any thought or suggestions Ta.

- when ever I have done this job, I use a modified G Clamp, to compress the piston back in (very gently!), whilst turning it at he same time with a home-made tool, and if that doesn't do it, I stick a bleed pipe on the nipple and loosen that as well.   Never had it so it doesn't work using this (home-made) method.  Don't suppose the handbrake cable has been tightened up too much to allow the mechanism to fully retract has it? Silly question, but you are turning the piston the right way aren't you? :no:

Have you taken the cap off the brake fluid reservoir.
