Scrapped Fun

Featured Replies

Hi All,

Been lurking on these forums since I started looking for a Felicia Pickup to buy.  Spotted a worn out yellow thing on eBay for a good price and did some digging.

It had been sold for scrap 'cos the scrappy said the owners didnt need it and/or want the hassle of MOT'ing her.  After giving it a once over, its definately more of the latter!  Took a risk and bought it over the phone and had it delivered the next day.

Overall condition, not great

So far, I know I need to patch up the sills and replace the wings (rotted through under the bonnet) and deal with this:

Looks like the rear struts rusted out before and the previous owner has patched over.  Upside is should be easy to remove as its probably just been done around the seam.  Bad news, I'll have to have a serious think about the rust hole directly underneath the mounting (you can see the bushing through the holes)

Anyway, thanks for looking and if you have any advise please let me know!

Was this the £350 one? If so I had a good nosey at the listing, would imagine it was definitely worth it however I would be too nervous of those 1.6's to ever buy a spares/repairs/unknown one! Good luck :)

No, although I did consider it!  The bodywork had far too many knocks that were concealed by angling the picture for just the right angle.  Engineering I can cope with, making it look pretty, less so.

The engine on this one is in surprisingly good condition, but definately has the feeling its been left a long time.  Not stripped it down for a close look yet.

I saved a fun from the scrappers too lots of rust but now modified with aircon and abs full leather too

Ok, can anyone please advise how to get the bumper off. I've removed both screws underneath, two in the arches and the two reg plate ones. Still feels like there are some in the middle though? I'm sure it's obvious but assume I know nothing

Front or rear?

I think there's a few on the underside. Once all off, should come forwards really, and separate from the black one underneath.

I can get the one off the garage roof tomorrow evening and take some photos if that helps locate the holes :)

Is it damaged?

Ah, I assumed the yellow and black came off together.  The four screws underneath have seized solid, might have to cut them off in that case.  Pics would be great!  Many thanks.

One huge, badly repaired dent and lots of scuffs, gotta come for a proper repair and repaint.

Okies, will sort some photos tomorrow for you :)

Got it off, someone had "repaired" the two bumpers together!

Kept raining here :( Good to hear it's off. ;0

I found my rear one had been repaired (badly). :( :(
