Hi guys my aircon compressor is knackered clutch moves freely, so am going to replace compressor, does the dryer need replacing to I'll be buying a used compressor

If the system is getting opened to atmosphere, replacing the drier makes a lot of sense, I'm assuming that you are getting a fridge person to pressure test and vac out this system - and add in some oil before recharging it. One other thing, if the compressor has seized, there is a chance that some debris has being circulating round the system, this could cause problems for the next compressor, so maybe the system needs flushing through.
