Battery cover is missing I believe

Cover isn't missing it just doesn't have one.

People buy Audi R8 and Porsche oil and coolant caps, don't know if it fixes that issue or not though.

You can buy rocker cover, gasket and bolts all separate.

I looked into a battery cover also but there isn't one on a BLT engine unfortunatly which is odd.

You can fit the material type one from vauxhalls onto it if your just wanting to cover the battery.

I'd imagine you can fit the one from the ASZ engine as well but haven't seen anyone try before.

Mines blt and has a battery cover. :P

Where did you get it from Adam? Im sure someone said a ASZ one wouldn't fit?

It came with the car.

Possible part number on inside of cover.

Although the Ops fuse setup on top of battery looks different to mine.20150801_112850_zpsmpao5zig.jpg

Are the rocker cover bolts and seals a main dealer part or can you get them online

The bolt seals are all part of the rocker gasket which seems to be part number 038103483D. There are some on ebay.

There is also this which is the gasket and bolt kit http://www.vwspares.co.uk/product_info.php?products_id=2704

That's an ASZ Battery and cabling set up.

The one in the OP's picture with the exposed relays is the BLT, and there is no easy way of adapting the ASZ battery cover to fit, trust me I know from experience.

Easy way to 100% identify what engine you have is take a picture of the EGR set up and post it up

Lol mine is a blt registered in Jan 2006.

Probably depends what parts they were short of when building the cars.

Having a quick Google the battery change came after the asz/blt change. So early blt engines will have battery cover but later ones will not.

According to Google.

Cars not with me right now but will a picture of the log book do?

Only just noticed when looking for the log book my car has fsh and the next one is due.
