Featured Replies

right guys my cars been overheating I removed thermostat changed water bottle all water pipes (no leaks anywhere) when I give it some water blows out expansion bottle I've tried 2 heads now both been reworked by 2 separate company last being lyons in ebbw vale very good company and its still the same my last option is changing the block which im going to start tomorrow unless anyone else can think of anything

Holy ****,again.

Is your rad ok?

Getting hot all over?

I would get a compression test done before taking head off and changing block.

Ps,

You need to pay for your oil cooler kit ;)

Payment details are in the thread.

As above, water pump will be worth a look.

Have seen plastic impellors crack on water pumps, they don't overheat at idle only when the engines being used as the shaft spins inside the impellor and doesn't pump any coolant around.

Best to keep things simple and remove extra things they take coolant.

Remove Hester matrix since they block quite often, just disconnect the pipes at the bulkhead and join them up.

Same with the oil cooler and egr cooler.

Remove thermostat all together.

So simply engine with two pipes going to each end of the radiator, they should rule out everything els if the radiator is new.

oil cooler been byepassed as I thought seals had gone in it, egr removed, thermostat remove completely, water is getting to rad and getting hot ive undone the valve on bottom water pipe trying to get any air out on tick over and normal driving its fine floor it to the speed limit of course and temp gauge flys up and pressure builds up and blows out expansion bottle

brandnew

Doesn't mean it's Ok, I deal with plenty of relatively new parts failing down to manufacturing defects etc

Any blockages in waterways?

Before now seen mixtures of K Seal and coolant system cleaner clog up, fortunately in an overflow so no issues

Have you checked coolant flow around the components?

Checking for blockages.
