Distress call from Egypt! Displaying Real time fuel consumption

Featured Replies

Hello everyone.

I'm from Egypt driving a MY15 1.6 MPI Octavia Active edition.

The car comes with swing radio and no trip computer, there's no controls on the wiper blade and it has the option code

9S2, MFA, Without multi-function display/ on-board computer "Basic"

The dashboard display shows the outside temperature, the current gear, mileage, trip mileage only.

But when the car's tank is near empty it begins to automatically show the remaining mileage on the tank "the range". so i assumed there' a computer calculating this somewhere.

so can this car be coded to permanently show the range or fuel consumption in real time on the screen ?

I dream of the day where instead of the temperature i have the  real time fuel consumption.

Thanks in advance for your help skoda gurus.

What does the handbook say? Normally I would expect a rocker switch on the right hand steering column stalk, which when pressed will change the outside temp -MPG-average MPG-distance traveled-time travelled- range etc.

Don't have that unfortunately ! No switch and no normal option to activate...that's why I think it would require vcds coding.

I take from the mention of rocker switches on stalks that you don't have steering wheel controls? This maybe possible to activate as there maybe an option that can be used to change what the display shows although I have never tried it.
