My new vRS has developed an clunky rattle from somewhere in the rear offside seat. When its folded down the clunks stop. Anyone experienced this? Can a simple adjustment be made to catch or hinge etc ? Or do I have to make a trip to the dealers. Only done 1200miles but its so awkward for me to get time in the day to go the dealers I'd like to solve problem myself. I'm quite happy to fiddle around inside the car but thought if someone's already "been there, solved it" it would speed the process up for me.

Check behind the seat upright near the catch and you'll see a rubber stop which can be wound out.

Common problem as I had this with mine. It's the rubber stop as Stu mentions. Adjust it to stick out more.

I think when it's pushed all the way down it causes the mechanism that connects the seat to the rear base to rattle

Thanks both of you. Adjusting the rubber **** worked a treat. I didnt realise it could be screwed in or out as required. Problem solved.

Just done the same adjustment on mine. The difference is shocking. It just shows how you get used to all the rattles and knocks. Cheers guys

Beware, it does have a tendancy to return but when it does, you just repeat the process!
