Business SE Alloy wheels

Featured Replies

hi all

Im very close to pulling the trigger on the amazing Business SE deal  (2.0 TDI) for the new model on PCH (3+23, £198pm).

However, i'd really like to know if anyone can confirm what alloys this will actually come with?  Several sources, such as the UK configurator and the Business brochure suggest its the Stratos alloys:

http://www.skoda.co.uk/SiteCollectionDocuments/Brochures/seBusinessModelBrochureJuly2015.pdf

however other sources, such as the Simpsons offer, suggest its Helios alloys :

http://www.simpsonsskoda.co.uk/new-car-offers/new-superb/

and ive also seen the Zeus alloys named too.

Also, the artwork and youtube videos all seem to be the L&K version (understable) - does the car retain the sharp looks in the lower specs e.g. do the headlights and daytime lights still look the same ?

thanks

Think I'm up for this deal as well it sounds too good to be true. I am also curious what the difference is between se and se business apart from the sunset glass.

the biggest and most important differences i can see are that the Business model gets upgraded leather/Alcantara seats and the basic sat nav, plus the privacy glass

Helios wheels are standard on the SE and Stratos standard on the SE Business

Cloth seats standard on the SE and Alcantara/leather standard on SE Business

Other extras:

Front & rear parking sensors

Sunset glass

Amundsen Sat Nav

Electric drivers seat

Thought you got heated front seats but appears not.

I just ordered mine via Freedom Vehicle Contracts, which is where the deal is available. Be quick as they have limited allocations and only grey, white and black available... or so I am led to believe.

Just for the record the ordering process was very easy, if not a little bit pressured.

I think it is the 17" Helios.

No, the LED DRL’s are only std when the car has Xenon’s (SE L and L&K)

The Bi-Xenon headlights include decorative cut crystal high beam lights.

Stylish illuminated decorative strips also feature in the headlights with the Smart light assist function.... This is a £100 option on the L&K and a £950 option on the SE & SE L (it’s not available on the S)

that's who ill go through too. i had a quote and didn't mention anything about colours - wont they just be factory orders?

im worried it might be the Helios wheels (they look a bit basic and taxi-like), even though the brochure say stratos....

however, given you'd have to completely pay for the upgrade yourself, i might buy a set of alloys and put them on myself, at least then ill have something to use again/sell at the end

My plan would be to go through the dealership as i am on a pcp deal so would like to use what equity i have left as deposit. i havent seen and SE L deals yet and i am a bit reluctant to contact the dealers as i suspect it will be daily phone calls chasing me up.

Looking at comparing PCP with PCH and having trouble really understanding the differences.

PCP might be deposit of £2000, Monthly payments of £300, Residual value of £9000 (maybe 3 years)

PCH might be initial payment of £1500, Monthly payments of £250, Residual value = 0 (maybe 2 years)

It seems that part of the comparison is whether or not you would be interested in buying the car for its residual value at the end. I guess that these car companies have a pretty good idea of the likely residual value and if you think they're estimating low, perhaps PCP not as bad as it looks.

I also understand that if you have a write-off crash that's your fault early in the life, and don't have GAP insurance, PCH results in more pain than PCP - what happens if it's NOT your fault?! Also, if the car isn't a write-off, but just a few thousand pounds to fix, does GAP cover that? How do things pan out?

What other angles are there on this?!

The SE Business model 2 year personal lease deal doing the rounds is £1490 down and £179 per month. Total cost for the 2 years is £5607.

I think that'd be hard to beat unless you want a higher spec model?
