I think I'll have to do my brake pads and discs at some point this year and would like to use axle stands to avoid doing too much work while the car's on a trolley jack. I've read previous threads on this and they mention that the console bush is the best place to put the stands.

 

I think this photo is from a Mk1, but assuming it's similar to the Mk2 where would you put the stand? Under the bolt on the suspension arm or on the bush itself?

 

 

Has anyone got a photo of their car on stands? I really don't fancy putting them through anything...
