Will these wheels fit with coilovers?

Featured Replies

Hi there, I've been looking at getting some new wheels, but I'm worried about the problems I may encounter with rubbing etc. currently im on the standard spiders (7x17 et38) with 205 50 17s, these are with prosport coilovers, that are wound down pretty low, so the top of the tread sits level with the arch rim. As it stands the spring adjuster platform at the front is around 3- 4mm away from the inside of the tyre. Im wanting to get some 18s which the majority are 8j width, and something like 205 40 18 tyres so will be a little stretched. im thinking i'll need something like an et32 offset? does this sound right? If anyone has an octy on prosports with 18s, please could you point me in the right direction? pics would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance

Im running a mk1 Octy VRS on prosports wound down to around 10mm off the max. Im currently running et35 8j 18" rims with 225/45/18 tyres. have 10mm spacers on the front and it clears the spring platform with no rubbing although it is pretty close. With a 205/40/18 you should be well clear.

Cheers

225/40/18 is the comon go to size, keeps all reading good too

Et35 8j rims shouldnt cause trouble

205/40/18 will be ok if want slaaaaaaaamned tho :)
