Featured Replies

Hi Guys

This weekend i was travelling south looking for ours nice beach's when an nice hole on the road found my Skoda alloy.

This is the result :|

Did you guy ever saw something like this? I had open an complain with Portuguese Skoda because i think this alloy as some manufacturing problem...

Everyone i had shown this pictures ask if i had done some "tunning" on this alloys, No NO No the car is brand new only 4 month old and 6.000Km

What you guys say about this?

Someone here with similar problem?

The wierd thing is that the back alloy had run over the same hole and did not cracked like this one... same speed same hole... i was driving max at 60Kmh

Wow that's not what I was expecting. Definitely something wrong with the manufacturing process there

Actually no.. but it was not that big max 4 fingers deep with 40cm  +/- long.

the lucky part was that i was driving slow and it was straight road.

If it was some bend on the road i probably had climbed some pine tree.

Im so curious about what skoda will say about this :) the thing now is that i dont feel safe with all the others 3 alloys... they should be all the same serie and this serie could have some major problem

Wow, that's definitely a faulty wheel you've got there. Hope they don't argue about replacing it.

Hi Guys

Sorry for my absence :)

Well the news are the ones that honestly i was expecting...

I had raised some claim with the official importer here in Portugal (SIVA) and also a with the Skoda reseller.

So the the result is that none of them assume this as an manufacturing problem but the alloy had cracked i two just because the impact so the warranty do not cover this.

So answering to this i told them that i was not crazy and i knew it what i had done and of course i was not applying to the warranty but to an manufacture problem that could be applied to mu alloy wheel and to all Skoda's or the one's that have the same series than as mine.

I had i quick conversation with the after sales director from Skoda and he told me that before Skoda he used to work for Porsche and something like this and Porsche will assume the faulty wheel... so this is what we have here in Portugal with the official importers and re-sellers...

I also told him... i believe if i had an Audi or BMW that this cracked alloy wheel was more than enough for a call and some experts check this and probably all cars equipped with this same alloy wheel will be checked...

In the mean time i got the email from customer service in Prague and i had made also some complain against Skoda here, with all details and Photos, now lets see what they will say.

So last friday i had the insurance guy to check my car and i gave them order to repair my vRS i have the car waiting to be fixed almost for 4 weeks... waiting for some stupid position from Skoda and Official importer.

So end of story for now, my insurance will cover the damage... and i'm thinking on asking my wife (lawyer) to write some letter to official importer and re-seller in order to get some written answer from their side and with this see if i go to justice or not.

That's a flaw in alloy I've seen wheels take some serious abuse and the incurred damage has been nothing like that. Is it was from the pothole I would expect the damage to be to either rim and cracks across the wheel not around it

Wow just seen this, ive seen bent alloys after hitting potholes but not splitting, definitely a fault
