Carista - Octavia Mk2 facelift 1.9 TDI

Featured Replies

Hi all,

Anyone had any experience with Carista?

I've just bought it and tried it on my car. The fault checking worked fine (no faults found), and some of the customisations worked (coming home lights etc), but the main reason I bought it was to change the unlock:

It's currently 1 click drivers door, 2 clicks all doors. I'd like it to be 1 click all doors.

Anyway, this particular change didn't work unfortunately.

Just wondered if anyone else has had any similar experiences or found a solution?

I've e-mailed Carista themselves so will let you know what they reply in case it's useful to anyone here.

Thanks

Did mine to 1 click unlock, but mine is a pre fl.

As said, it's been well discussed in that thread

I tried it and couldn't it to connect to my Bluetooth device although other similar apps connected OK. I contacted the vendor but never received a reply.

Any other decent apps out there?? I really just want to reset the service required message.

They replied to me today and said the 1 click unlock should work, and they wanted me to send them a diagnostic report from the car so I've done that.

Will let you know what they say...!

Could be an issue with the actual car. I have known issues with Skoda dealer's performing the same action.

Hi flapper, that's a bit of a worry - what was the cause with those issues you've known? Faulty ECU?

Just a thought, my WiFi unit required me to have the engine running before it would work with Carista. Other ELM 327 devices work with just the ignition on.

As far as I know, no one has reported a Bluetooth unit needing the engine running, but is a simple test to try.

As for resetting the service indicator, on the Mk 1 Octavia you can do this using the right hand twiddle knob in the dash. Not tried it on my Mk 2 but found you can find out how many miles to the next service using the same twiddle knob so I expect you could reset it by pressing the twiddle knob in for a couple of seconds or so when displaying the service miles left.

Not sure why. Just know that it does not always work. I wonder if you disconnect the battery 1st for half an hour then try it.
