Idling at 1000rpm or under? Octy vrs

Featured Replies

Hi there, I have a 59 plate octy vrs, only had it a few weeks now. First I had a loss of power and under boost issue which turned out to be a new actuator needed. Since I had a new one fitted it seems to be idling at 1000 revs whereas before it was slightly under. Also when I turn the traction control off it still won't rev past 2500 rpm, anyone have any experience on this subject? All help would be much appreciated. Thanks

You need to get it scanned for error codes. There is a real mixture of symptoms you have there.

Mine idles steadily at 750-800 rpm. I have no idea how the traction control might or might be expected to influence the engine revs as I don't think they are designed to interact at all (usual internet forum caveats apply).

Not revving past 2500rpm sounds like limp-mode to me which would remain on until whatever fault caused the error code is fixed. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply, oddly enough this morning it has reverted back to idling just under 1000rpm and will now rev past 2500 with the traction control off. Can see a few more issues with this car in the future!
