2012 octavia cr1.6 greenline dpf and egr

Featured Replies

hi just bought an Octavia greenline to replace my aging 2006 Mondeo tdci with 226000 on the clock

I blank the egr valve on the Mondeo to stop all the **** being passed back through the engines induction system. I had the orange eml since blanking but checked the code regular to make sure it was only the egr causing the light

my skoda has only got 60,000 on the clock and as its going to be a taxi I am looking for preventative measures

I am thinking of blanking the egr (mainly to stop the vanes on the turbo carboning up and sticking) and having the dpf gutted to prevent future problem

I undersand it will be required to have the software updated to remove the fault codes and would have a remap to increase power

do you think this is over kill or a good option whilst its lowish mileage

I'm waiting for my first sign of problems before a remap along with DPF & EGR delete. It's defo software related but I do believe some companies will blank the EGR also.

Where are you based?
