Hello All

 

I have a Skoda Octavia Ambiente 2005, which has suffered a crankshaft failure (cracked through one of the arms). I have never experienced this with a car before and I am asking if there are any other members who have experienced this problem.

 

Also before I scrap the car does anyone have a spare crankshaft? Although at 55 years old it may be to big a job for me to take on these days.

I never seen it before either. 24 year's working on vag only vehicles. Got a picture. Would be easier to change the lump. What engine code is your car. Bxe engine's have spat conrods out in rare case's.

Broken crankshaft, thats not what you hear very often, quite a rare occurance, you would be better off chucking a second hand engine in there rather than opening up your one and doing surgery on it.
