Double Din headunit Trim ?

Featured Replies

Hi,

Just had a double din headunit fitted and want to know if another owner who has fitted one can tell me where to get the piece of trim i need at the top or i would buy a whole new trim unit to cover that and the surround . See picture attached.

wow.... never even entered my head to try them ! Thanks.

Part number 6Y0857231B41 From Skoda, approx £5

wow.... never even entered my head to try them ! Thanks.

They fitted a double din headunit as an option so they needed something to go in there.

It's also in the handy Fabia part numbers sticky.

Good ole skoda, thanks.

I have a similar question, might as well ask on here - I have a elegance with the draw tray under the 1.5 din stereo, I've already ordered the wrong one once, which one would I need?

There is only one top trim. They are suitable for all aftermarket stereos.

That is what i have just taken out, mine had the draw as well, it fits just fine but with that small gap at the top which i understand this Skoda trim will sort out, depending on the unit it can be a bit of a pig to get the double din cage in the hole ! We did it in the end but it was not a '' slide easy '' event.

Not trim related but i have noticed that the new unit (pioneer) does not seem as good with FM reception as the old skoda unit !!!! Well on Smooth anyways !! Could it be the antenna adaptor that needs to be fitted lowering the signal ?

It needs an amplifier fitted to the aerial, with the blue wire connected to the remote wire from the head unit

Cheers for that, i just though you needed the adaptor and that was it, are these amplifiers easily available or do you need someone with electrical knowledge to fit them. You live and learn !! The trim i in place now and looks very good.

The amplifiers are easy to find, halfords sell them amd will wire them too if you need it, but basically the blue wire from the amplifier needs connecting to the blue remote/aerial wire from your stereos harness

Amplifier:
