Newbie from Worcester

Featured Replies

Hi everybody,

I bought my first Skoda Octavia 1.4TSI Elegance ( Used)  Hatchback yesterday 2011 reg from Skoda dealer in Hertfordshire after running a Honda Accord for 15 years & 250K. Very impressed with the drive back to Worcester yesterday but not the endless road works.

I have a question hope someone can advise, where can I get an alloy wheel  for the spare? I`d prefer just the wheel so I can choose tyre spec and make the spare from a  low tread depth tyre& wheel already on the vehicle. Sorry in advance if my enquiry prompts "Oh Gawd Another-One",

I`m hoping it wont break the bank,,

Welcome to the club / forum / madhouse (delete as applicable) from Herefordshire.

I'm in Worcester fairly often if you need any VCDS trickery performing.

I used to live in Hertfordshire as well (Watford). But I took no notice of car dealers back then as I couldn't drive at that point.

 Hi KBPhoto,  thanks for the welcome what is VCDS trickery?

Magic!

It's basically a computer diagnostic interface (similar to that used by the dealers) that can scan your car for fault codes, make changes to behaviours of lights, wipers, etc. and provide logging of engine data as some examples.

People frequently ask me to clear fault codes / airbag lights, changer coming home light behaviour, add a digital mph display, etc.

Think of it as personalising your car at a basic level.

Hi and welcome

Any Skoda dealer can sell you a spare wheel, but if want to match the alloy, it wont be cheap.

Also check out my tyres www.mytyres.co.uk I had a new steel wheel and new tyre from them for about £100.

Hello from Malvern :)

Thanks for the welcome & info I have just realised 3 out of the 4 tyres are Bridgestone ER 300 Run -Flat, the 4 tyre is Dunlop SP Sport Fast response, not Run -Flat, with 5 mm left. So i`m wondering if i should buy two new Run - Flat tyres and scrap the Dunlop and do without a spare wheel, decisions ,decisions
