MK1 Octavia VRS Replacement 3 Button Fob

Hi guys and girls!

So I followed a tutorial/guide and ordered a new replacement remote with the boot function.

With thanks to Bowders for his post from this topic: http://www.briskoda.net/forums/topic/170952-3-button-remote-fob-ebay-replacement-for-2-button/

However..... When I came to stripping it all down I noticed that my circuit board only had TWO buttons so there is no way to actually use the boot function, I've checked both keys and they are the same.

Has anyone come across this in their own 3 button conversion? Did the MK1's have 2 buttons or have others soldered a new button to the board or simply replaced the whole thing?

Many thanks!

Have you ordered a complete remote fob or just the casing?

You need to order an entire key complete with circuit board, swap over the part that holds the keyblade and immo chip and then code up the circuit board to the car. Theres video's on youtube but you may need vcds. You cant buy a 3 button case and put a 2 button circuit board in that and expect it to work

That would make sense! Don't know why I assumed I would have a 3 button board :notme:

Cheers guys!
