Featured Replies

Any tips to permanantly stop this. When it was fitted fancy grease was used by the garage to stop sqeeks but after 6 month or so it started to sqeek and creak alot, so id squirt a bit of wd40 on the bushes which worked fine and stopped the creaks but it also made the nuts come loose. So every few week im lubricating and tightening. Its driving me mad!

put some locktite on the thread of the bolt, should keep it tight

Why didnt i think of that lol. Anyone else have theres commin loose?

My H&R bar has Teflon composite bushes and never squeaks, if they're available separately it maybe worth trying some of them?

WD40 is a solvent as well as a lubricant & dries out really quickly.  You should use a lithium based grease as petroleum based product will damage the poly bushes (assuming you have an aftermarket RARB).

You don't say what brand of bar it is but I know the whiteline bars came out with a modified D-bush to stop the squeak.  They'll send a new modified bush FOC if you ask nicely.

The nuts (I thought they were bolts?) probably need replacing  but loktite will do the same job.

My whiteline one came with nylock nuts

It did squeak a little so popped the bushes off a little bit of greese later and the noise has completely gone :)

My Whiteline developed a creak after two years and so I had it re-greased at JKM in Portsmouth, came back 5 months later and JKM offered to re-grease it for free. I did a bit of research and having contacted Whiteline received the new non-grease type FoC from Whiteline. JKM very kindly fitted them FoC and all seemed OK.

But I now have a different issue, before it creaked on a uniform dip in the road (eg both swing arms go up or down at the same time) it no longer does that, but now creaks when the bar is twisting.

I need to get it looked at as it is annoying to say the least. I've not seen the design of the d-brackets that hold it in place, but am wondering if they are squeezing the bushes too much causing my issue, so a couple if spacer washers might resolve the issue ?

Ideas on a Postcard please.

an interesting point to which I never got an answer--for polybushes they seem to recommend fitting the size to match the bar,    but on original stuff the bushes appear to be approx 2mm diam under size to the bar
