Featured Replies

hi all car is 2007 2.0 tdi vrs est not had car long and just noticed car is smelling of fumes when stationary when i got windows down i have read alot about checking the cabin filter not done yet its had a new in april 2015 by skoda and a new full exhaust cat/dpf system in febuary 2015 was thinking about using a dpf cleaner that you put in your tank or am i waisting my money the car pulls well and ticks over ok no warning lights on any thoughts cheers rob oh not got a manual yet just wondering where the cabin filter is.

I get the same problem in my 2007 vRS TDi. The fumes smell can be pretty bad sometimes. New cabin filter won't help with this (accessed in the passenger footwell under the dash btw).

Recently I noticed the threaded bolt of the v-clamp that holds the DPF onto the turbo was a bit sooty in places on my car. I wonder if the gasket that is supposed to be there is missing or broken up and allowing escape of exhaust gas. This would pump fumes straight at the firewall at the back of the engine bay and into the cabin.

Darkside Developments sell replacement v-clamps if you decide to replace it as a potential fix.

Oh, honestly!! Some people also detest being corrected unnecessarily.

Let's just keep to helping each other with car issues.

Mike,

It was Rafadodd who was the OP. I answered his query about where the filter was located, using normal text in my first response. Apparently you have not read the thread correctly.
