Getting new wheels for my VRS Special edition

Featured Replies

I am looking to get some new alloys for my vrs as mine are pretty scruffy and instead of paying £270 for a professional refurb i was thinking that I'll get a nice new set of wheels instead.

Im looking a at Calibre - Friction Alloy Wheel Black with Blue Ball Polishing with some 225/45/17 - Pirelli P Zero Nero GT   Tyres

Do you guys think these will be ok?

Thanks!!!

If you was going for 17" alloys 205/40/17 is the size people go for, 225 will be too wide for it

Ive found some p zero tyres with 205/40/17 instead.

I only ask as I have never bought new wheels for a car before.

I have 205/35 on my 17s, so might be another option.

205/40 x17 is the "correct" size, though 205/45 is more comfortable and the speedo is a tad more accurate. 225/45x17 is something you'd find on a Golf or Audi TT - they're massive and won't fit on the Fabia. Usual problem area would be the rear offside where there's a bump in the arch liner for the fuel filler pipes.

As for the wheels, I think the blue won't match the bodywork colour.... Though the red might work alongside glimpses of the calipers. I'm more drawn towards mid/dark grey or gunmetal colours.

How about 215 45 17s?

Would they fit?

As I've had some new pirellis fitted I think I will look into a refurb with new colour and powder coat.

How about 215 45 17s?

Would they fit?

No

Generally the 2 preferred 17" tyre sizes for a fabia are

205/40/17

Or

215/40/17

Nothing else is worth looking at

If I decided to get 16 inch black alloys. Can I put my 16 inch pirellis on them? Sorry for being a noob. If you don't ask you'll never know :)

Yes
