Car telemetry boxes hacked by SMS

Featured Replies

I work in vehicle telematics and I don't even want to get into this emoticon-0100-smile.gif I will just say I don't let anything near the CANBUS of my car.

Having said that though, the common way to attach them is not to plug in to the wiring, but just induction sensors clamped around the wires, making writes back harder.

All of our company vehicles have telemetry boxes fitted that you have to "sign" into with a fob.

Quite scary what data is available on the reports we can generate.
