Fabia vRS seat protection - what and where to buy?

Featured Replies

I want to use Scotchguard protection on my Fabia vRS seats. I tried local Asda, Sainsburys, Megaspares, several car accessory shops, B&Q, Homebase, Focus and nobody stocks it.

Allied Carpets told me that Scotchgard has been taken off the market due to environmental problems. They suggested I use "Guardsman" but didnt know where to get it from.

Any advice on this matter welcome, inc. website where I can get it from.

look harder at b&q they do stock it

I used Diamondbrite, and got the paintwork kit and stuff to do the seats for

I bought two (400ml) tins of diamonbrite upholstery protector off e-bay at

Wish i'd protected my seats, they've got really dirty lately.

Robert Dyas hardware stores sell 3M Scotchgard

There have been environmental and health concerns about it but I believe 3M changed the formula.

Thanks for that info. I've ordered some on-line from that site.

I cleaned my seats with a VAX Spot Scrubber a month or so ago and it made a great job of them.

I bought some 3M Scotchguard spray at the same time, but forgot to use it.

I found it yesterday, so I'm going to spray the front passenger seat and rear bench, then I'll re-clean the drivers seat and spray that once it's dry.

Does it really make that much difference? I've never used any sort of stain protection before.

Got a can of carplan foam valet from asda. Works a treat and only cost 4 quid. Have tried stain protectors before but didn't stop coffee or irn-bru stains. Better off just cleaning the seats every 3-4 months.

Wish i'd protected my seats, they've got really dirty lately.

I'd clean them up, then apply one of the protection products? Vax Spot Scrubber gets my vote, but the stuff from Asda sounds like it's worth trying too...
