Climate control problems

Featured Replies

Hi folks

My climate control seems to work intermittently.  At all times, the twin fans are running and the compressor turns also and cuts out when ECON is pressed.

What seems to happen is on a journey the air conditioning stops at random points and comes back again - hard to say when.  Id say Its 60% working, 40 not.

I took a look under the engine bay when I got home from work (climate was OK) and notced the pipe at the back of the engine was iced up - is this normal?

Have you run the self diagnostic on the climatronic unit?

I did try this but could only see 4FA which I think links into the recirc motor being duff (common problem)

Ice on the condenser is pretty normal, particularly in warm humid weather. The heat that's moved to/from the cabin has to be somewhere!

Also, climate control is designed to start/stop when you're achieving the demand cabin temperature, particularly if the Sun sensor (centre of fascia top vent) is in shadow.
