P0546 fault

Featured Replies

Well talk about back to reality with a bang. Having just spent a lovely 10 days in the heat in Palma Nova something had to go and spoil it! Got the car warm set off home 2 miles into the journey up pops a flashing glow plug light. Although the car was running ok didn't seem to be in limp. Another 10 miles or so eml pops on. It got us home ok no problems. So, my scanner read as follows.

P0546 - Exhaust gas temperature sensor circuit high bank 1 sensor 1.

I'm presuming lambda sensor picking up something dodgy? Or the sensor itself?

So, will that be the pre cat sensor, how bad is it to change, or is it just because the car has sat for 10 days is it likely to disappear by itself? 2.0pd vrs.

So a quick google search reveals there is actually an exhaust gas temperature sensor. Any help locating it or p/n would be appriciated.

Any look finding it? I have the same issue ???

Yes it was a faulty sensor at the top of the manifold next to the turbo. It looked easy enough to replace but i put the car into my usual vag indie basically because as there was a fault in the system the dpf wouldn't perform a passive regen so he forced regened it while it was in. The problem with the sensor is apparently there is 3 of them so i don't know how he traced which one it was but he is decent!!
