Where does this Australian MPH fixation come from?.

I think it is for the UK where we have KPH on the MaxiDOT and by changing to Australian gives us the option to display MPH on the MaxiDOT.

A lot or most would like a digital display of MPH as its easier to see the speed at a glance instead of trying to work out where the analogue needle is.

So true Urrell this is exactly why I had it done. Well worth the effort, when we supposedly did not have anyone on Island that did VCDS.

Tony

Seeing Australia hasn't dealt in anything BUT METRICS for the last 40 odd years, l would think that approach a total waste of time.

Why would WE want MPH?.

I have enabled the large speedo reading by changing the country to Australia, when you do this it changes it to KPH, you then have to change the readout back to MPH to get what you need for the UK

That sounds like what I need but I will leave it at KPH for digital and MPH for dial, thanks for confirming it can be done.

Ok, maybe  i'm missing something here, finally got an opportunity to play around with my vcds, changed to Australia, reset to factory default, key out/in looked in mfd and yes a choice of l/100k, k/litre, mpg(uk) and mpg(usa) chose l/100k and the mfd changed to said l/100k etc looked in mfd, and ticked digit, and yes it indicates ONLY mph cannot access kph so as I thought originally, the computer assumes the speedo indicates kph and so sets the imperial units on mfd!

If anyone can tell me how to get large kph on the mfd screen I will eat humble pie etc!
