plug lead covered in oil

Featured Replies

Hi all,

one of my plug leads is covered in oil (the end the goes over the plug), its the second from left as you look at the engine from the front. Car is running great with no issues other than losing oil from somewhere, think its coming from the rocker cover and might have something to do with the lead being soaked in oil.

Any ideas or help much appreciated

Diesels don't have spark plug leads.

The feed to the glow plugs is low tension.

sorry, havent changed my car details on here (ill amend that now)

its not a diesel, its a VRS, having had another look at it, im thinking it might be the gasket or seal that fits on top of the plug holes in the head

Right, in that case I'd start by checking the seal on the cam cover around the edge, and where the plug boot attaches.

Could be spilt oil? If not rockercover gasket. Oil anywhere else? Could be dipstick tube if oil is elsewhere
