Driving safety features faults

This week, on Tuesday, at 3860 miles, my Fabia 3 sel 110 tsi has the following faults as yet unresolved as Skoda main dealer can't see me until next Thursday. This is my first brand new car, and I have had less problems with ****ty Renault's than this three month old car!!

Park assist is not working.

Start stop is not working.

Abs not working.

Tyre pressure monitor not working.

I'm guessing as these have all gone at the same time there must be some linked sensor fault, but it's frustrating and not good enough as far as I can see.

The dealer had told me they won't have a courtesy car available either, but I think that's rubbish too. They'll be plenty of cars in their forecourt I'm certain...

Any one else had issues!?

Any one got any ideas?!

And forgot the front assist braking also not working.

You have a very faulty car, and if the Dealership you are looking to to carry out the warranty work have no car for you, 

call Skoda UK and have them arrange a car for you, or a Warranty Repairer with courtesy cars.

*Skoda UK might want your car to Milton Keynes and have their technical staff see why it is so crap, 

ECU, Loom or what the issue is.*

 

But as it is, this might just be a Lemon they have supplied, so best see about rejecting this car once they get on with diagnosing the faults, & the reason for them, and also why the Dealer is next to as much use as a chocolate fire guard.

 

Cars at the Dealership might well be Demonstrators that Skoda UK still own, and Employees have these as perks, 

maybe the Sales Manager can give up his perk, or the Service Desk Manager,

Good plan of action. I will let you know how I find the dealership dealings work out... At least for me, MK is not too far away (1 hourish), Just as well I moved from the Scottish Borders or I would be demanding teleportation features to be fully installed and working.

Sounds like an ABS control unit or braking control unit issue since most of the systems involved use the braking system.

I think I'm right in saying the tyre monitor also uses the ABS sensors to measure differences in rolling circumference?

Stop start probably also uses the ABS control to know the car is stationary.

I would be insistent on Skoda getting it looked at ASAP.

Not sure I'd be happy driving about with a potentially faulty braking system.

Yeah, a lot of that looks like its the brake system at fault. Yes, the TPM uses the ABS sensors to compare rotation of each wheel to the gearbox output.

Id be doing what George has said ASAP.

Especially on such a low mileage car. They should be jumping to sort it asap for you.

Considering your luck with 'safety' features, I don't think that's your very best idea!  :no:

Just an update from yesterday - the second visit to Skoda garage with this fault and it was FIXED finally.

First visit they told me it was in need of a software update... but the faults all came up again instantly and they booked me in for round two. Had to wait until yesterday and they found that a wiring loom under the car on the braking system had not been connected properly and was rubbing on the driveshaft. This exposed the wiring and whenever it was getting wet the faults came up.

All fixed as expected, but what a shame that the Quality Control checks at manufacture hadn't picked this up and I had to waste so much of my time trying to persuade Skoda to do something.

 

(As an aside, I got a CitiGo 1.0SE as courtesy car. First impressions - thirsty, gutless, no safety features to go wrong(!) and so small it reminded me of the 1993 L reg Fiat Cinquecento I gladly no longer drive.)

Next time don't bother with the dealer.

 

Ring Skoda Assist, they will send someone out to look at the car on the drive, it they can't fix it they will tow it to the dealer and also arrange a courtesy car for you.
