Cooling and air con fans

Featured Replies

Hi I've got an issue where my fans do not spin at low speed in the engine bay when the air con is on. The air con only kicks in when the system is up to temperature. I have had the car run in Vcds and it's showing a interning ant short on cooling fan 1 and on the fan control unit. Am I assuming this is the common issue with the fans and its best to replace ??

My car was showing intermittent fan fault. The fans eventually packed up altogether.

Skoda wanted over 500 quid to fix it. I got some new fans from euro car parts for £150 and did it myself using this guide.

Saved me wrecking the rad and my hands!

It's good to have an extra pair of hands when taking the shroud out and re-inserting it.

Everything seems ok now. Hope this helps.
