Passenger door lock popping back up? WHY?

Featured Replies

Hi this must be commonly asked I've seen a few people with this prob but no one seems to have an answer but basically when I lock the doors from the lock button in the drivers control panel the passenger side lock pops back up it's driving me mad

Does anyone know why or how to fix it?

Does it still do the same if you lock from the remote fob?, if not I would check the wiring connector and module for water ingress damage in the drivers front door - there are quite a few threads on this, and YellowCar did a really helpful how to in the guides section.

Recently the same problem has developed on my Mk 1 Octavia L&K 2001. Locking car with remote or key the front passenger door button pops up. If one opens that door from outside the alarm goes off.  When I "unlock"   with remote or key in driver's door the passenger door button  goes down & it won't open from outside. But it will from inside !!!   Not just an inconvenience but also a security risk (burglar) or safety (opening car door in event of accident). Help ;-)

See my answer above your post, we are getting rain again, and as these cars are another year older, the problem of water in the system gets more common each year. take a look at YellowCar's how to, very good at showing what needs to be done.

Rain, we had 2 months supply (4") on Mon/Tues :-(

How do I access "Yellow Cars" ?
