15 Octy vRS Tdi first impressions

Featured Replies

Hi All,

I've had my Octavia for a few days now and I absolutely love it! I went for race blue with the black pack plus and it looks stunning. I test drove a few cars, and did look at a golf and 2 series but they look a bit bland for my liking compared to the Octy.

The interior is pretty good quality and the infotainment system is great paired with the Canton sound system. The seats are great and you could easily chew through long journeys, loads of space in the back and a huge boot.

Even with the 19's the ride is perfect for me, and the car corners well even in the wet with fresh tires. I haven't had everything out of the engine yet, until it's run in, but it has more than enough power for the road. Especially considering I picked up a few points in my fabia a week before the Octy came! Not sure if it's just me but it seems the engine doesn't pick up until a lot later in the rev range compared with older Tdi units, driving more like a petrol.

All in all, chuffed to nuts I stayed with Skoda and can't wait for the next drive.

Cheers,

Good choice they look fab in the race blue.

I have had mine  for just over 3 weeks now, i went for red with the black pack and blacked out windows and absolutely love it. The new car novelty hasn't worn off yet!

The only slight thing thats annoying me is the capacity of the fuel tank , I have filled up twice now from the red marker to full and it doesn't seem to take anything more that 40 litres which gives me a range of 400 to 450 miles so I imagine I will be at the pumps a lot more then I was in my last car (3 series BMW) but other then that I really can't fault it!

enjoy the new wheels!

Picked up brand new vRS wagon yesterday, and so far very pleased!    Went for DSG after a lifetime of manuals and so far happy with that choice.   Has the pano roof which makes the back seat much more of an open space.  Agree on the small tank size, 55 or even 60 would make it a better interstate cruiser.

I nearly changed to red last minute after seeing some pictures on here, it looks very nice.

Blame the co2 on the smaller tank. Means less weight = more economic!

I guess I will notice this too as I'm always filling the citigo up and that sips fuel!

My mk2FL I used to fill up once a month if that!! (But then it was a second car)

Glad to hear you are enjoying it....looking forward to mine :)
