Audi A6 allroad 2015 4G platform coding of towbar help.

Featured Replies

Hi all hoping someone on here can offer some help,a fellow forum op from another forum has asked the following question, can anyone offer advice or help please????

Long shot but im hoping someone may know this info

Just installed a detach towbar with 13 pin genuine vehicle specfic Westfalia electrics onto the newest shape Audi A6 Allroad ( 4G chassis platform )

the problem i have , all is coded etc except i need to remove the dash yellow "hook not engaged" symbol, as this is a detachable and not a swivel retractable. Normally you can change byte 1 and 2 from 08,09 to 00,00 in Trailer module 69 using VCDS. But according to Westfalia, you have to code the symbol out in ABS on this newer A6. The problem is, there is no guided info once your in Coding 07 in ABS, for selecting Manual Hitch, so unless you know what Bits to check / uncheck, your stuffed. its byte 1 and 2 in coding in ABS, but i need to know what Bits 0 - 7 need changing

Westfalia themselves dont know and niether do Ross tech, spoke to both yesterday

Audi cant even do it, because the factory dont offer a detachable towbar option on the new 4G chassis A6, only a swivel down retractable, there is no SVM code, the only SVM code available for swivel type wont remove symbol. Spent 4 hours yesterday messing about with it, just trying to code it.

so i have till wednesday of next week to come up with the coding or remove everything so the dealership can fit a swivel type inhouse. refund the cost and be stuck with the electric kit forever more !!

Seems a bit bizzarre that Westfalia make the moulel, but cant tell you the coding for it, they suggested buying their own programmer to do it, but when i looked at the vehicle list it supports, it didnt seem very comprehinsive

so any help really appriecated

It is a long shot on here......

Had lots of experience on MQB and earlier but not the 4G chassis, hopefully someone will come along and help.

It does seem wired that they make it but essentially can't fit it (without correct coding)

Good luck
