Octavia 2005 LnK overheating

Featured Replies

Hi Guys... Greetings to All!!!

I thought to put this here in tbe forum to get few suggestions from the members.

i have octavia lnk 2005, recently I have been facing this issue with overheating thing whenever I take it for a long drive say 100 miles or uphill.

I faced this recently and found that there was no coolet coing back to the reservoir from the pipe from which coolent should come back. Also, after slowly opening the cap of the reservior and cooling it a bit I turned the car on and the coolent started coming back and over flowing out form the reservoir. The big hose which is connected to the radiator was swollen and looked like was filled with steam. Anyways, I pumped some air through my mouth few times in the pipe (which refills the reservoir) which seemed like choked and turned the car ON and coolent started flowing through it in the reservoir.

Now yesterday, just out of curosity I pulled that pipe out again just to check if coolent was circulating back to the reservoir and found that there were lot of bubbles and air too coming out from that pipe.

I am not sure what could be the reason... is that air the reason why my octi is getting overheated again n again?

Please advise. Thanks guys...

do you know when the water pump was last changed? should be changed every time with the cambelt really,

did you give the system a good flush is it was full of rush? if its that bad you might have a blockage somewhere

to be fair the water system is quite simple
