Transport mode active error

Featured Replies

My car had just completed over 1000 miles in my octavia TDI vrs but when I plug in the vcds cable I get a "transport mode active" error. Anybody seen this before? Should I be worried?

Do you mean a New car that has just done 1,000 miles and the Supplying Dealership never set the car properly at the PDI,

from the Delivery / transportation to them.?

Miles & Miles to Service etc.    & they need to do this now.

Yeah it's done 1000miles from new (I have had the car from new) I have just plugged in the vcds and it says that transport active error. I was under the impression that if the car was in transport mode it would be really obvious (no remote locking, no auto lights etc) but that is not the case.

Is it defined as an intermittent fault when you read it?

if so the likely cause if the supplying dealer hasn't reset the fault memory of all the modules and it's been left there post pdi.

you'd know if the car was still in transport mode - no radio, power limited, no light functions etc

What happened when you tried to clear the error from within the BCM - did it come straight back?

If so, something is not right as I have seen many many many O3's and only once seen a Transport Mode fault code and it cleared OK.

Think we reset it but the next time we went coding it was still there.

How does a garage take the fact I know about the error because we used a vcds? And I want them to fix it?

Be honest with them - tell them you scanned it because the Fatigue Sensor option was missing so you wanted to see if there were any fault codes logged.

Do you usually keep your vcds changes too when you got to the garage or is it best to revert them back first?

Never changed anything back and nothing has ever been said... even about the obvious changes.

Always kept them - most of the time they don't even notice. Occasionally a comment has been made about the obvious things like Traffic Sign Recognition, but it has never been an issue.

Just saw this morning H that our local skoda garage has closed for good. You need to go to Edinburgh dunfermline or Stirling. Pain in the proverbial
