oil leak from turbo?

Featured Replies

got a major oil leak coming from the middle of turbo. it has started ever since the headgasket has been repaired,

gotten to the point where I'm topping oil up every few days!

the oil feed pipe had been tightened up and still leaking,

would having the headgasket done increase more power and pressure and possibly popped a turbo deal?

every now and again the car will feel more powerful then another day, I get a puff of smoke on start up and MPG averaging at 45+?

I'd remove the oil feed pipe completely, remove the threaded adaptor part and replace the two copper washers for it.

The oil feed pipe might be tight but the threaded adaptor might not be.

how do you take the adaptor off and washers off?

sorry I'm new to the fabia haha

Take it back to whoever did head gasket?

Could also be the oil return on bottom of turbo.

It's a little bit of a strange setup.

They are both 17mm but one can turn without the other so they don't always both end up right.

You need to either remove the oil feed pipe completely and use a deep 17mm socket to remove the feed adaptor or adapt a spanner like I have to hold the adaptor part in place.

I have a spare oil feed and adaptor if you need pictures.

yeah please pal send me some pics, cause I've just brought a turbo for it when it sounds like I don't need it

plus reckon it's worth getting a new bolt and washer or try tightening that adaptor up?

You just need 1 copper washer for it, the rest can be reused.

Just got a few pictures for you, hopefully you can make it out.

So you can see the adaptor part of the oil feed, still got the copper washer on the bottom. Remove that and replace the copper washer and tighten it down. With it nice and tight then screw the oil feed pipe into the adaptor like so...

what size is the copper washer?

I have no idea. I have a box of assorted sizes so just picked the best match.

I'll go and pick a variety of them then just see what fits, thanks for advice :)

is the copper washer under neath the adaptor? and what's easiest way to access the bolt?

Yeah just as it is in the picture.

From above should be fine if you remove the air Intake pipe
