Supply Issues 9/9/15

Featured Replies

Hi All

I have just been informed by my Skoda dealer (Progress Skoda) that Skoda have halted all build slots for the new Superb due to the massive demand. Not even officially launched and supply issues already. On my MK2 I had to wait nearly 8 months. Don't the company learn. There are going to be a lot of angry customers.

Interesting, and perhaps goes in line with what Lancaster Skoda MK told me yesterday in that if a customer ordered now they wouldn't see until December, at the earliest. Apparently all build slots have customers attached and there are no cancelled orders in the system.

I wonder if even December is realistic. At least I have a build slot but goodness knows where it is in the system! Make a really good car and you would expect good demand. Clearly Skoda were not convinced or their order scheduling systems are useless.

When I (re) ordered mine yesterday I was told they are still quoting 12-13 weeks... 12 weeks puts me on December 1st, one thing is certain once the car is officially launched this will increase.

As I said in the infantsy of this forum, "Don't hold your Breath".

Over six months for me waiting for octy mk3 Vrs, ordered on launch date.

I’m not, when I ordered the MKII Superb combi I was told 12-13 weeks as well, that turned out to be 26 weeks, on the bright side if the MKIII takes 6 months it would then be a 16 plate  :D

Mmmm.... I'll watch my week 39 build date with interest ! :-D

I'm not surprised by this

I'm so glad I ordered mine early August and had a build week of 38. I have just checked online and my order is still showing as confirmed being built week 38 which is from next Monday 14th Sept. I couldn't bare to wait until Dec or the new year.

I'll dance bare if I get mine before Christmas...

Glad I've had confirmation that mine is built!

Could you tell me please where online can you check it?

I ordered somewhere at July 17th, and I've got November 10th as final date.

I'm from Brussels, and my dealer says there is no possibility for me to online check status.

You lucky, lucky b******* ! ;-)

I've emailed my dealer this morning and their response is that they've had no official notification of any delays. They do however say that some lead times are currently 'a little longer than usual for some derivatives, mostly autos'.

Mine is still showing as week 41 and they still expect this to be a 'latest' build date.

IIRC it's only certain dealers where you can see this. Rainworths in Mansfield being one of them.
