VAG-COM in Hampshire

Featured Replies

Hi guys, im looking for someone who has VAG-COM in south hampshire, winchester, fareham, southampton, portsmouth area, as i would like my EGR thing turned down- What does this actually do?????

And i would like the auto locking function enabled.

oh and if you have a remapped furby that would be even better, so i could see what the difference is!

any ways i have a 2003 furby vrs standard at the moment!!

Many thanks in advance!

unfortunatly i have to work this evening, when is the next one?

Drop vRStu a PM, he's in Fareham and has VAG-COM. Top bloke too

Although its just over 2 hours for me, seriously thinking about coming to the next one too - there just doesn't seem to be any East Anglian meets... :(

I too would benefit form EGR reduction, and I have some fault codes that need clearing.

Can you reduce the EGR with the freeware version of VagCom?

Could tie up a mini-meet with seeing the "little woman"? ;)

I only have the freeware version and apart from viewing and clearing errors I odn't think you can do anything else. That said I must really learn how to use it properly. :o

Nope need the registered version! :D There was an interesting post by someone recently which pointed at the Ross-tech site and suggested that the EGR turning down had little or no effect, but as with all these things, I can't track it down

Chris

I don't want to turn it down for any performance benefits, just to stop the inlet getting caked in soot and other ****e...

Yeah it was the soot reduction which was hinted at being ineffective on the PD engine. Still, I did it on mine and didn't notice any difference, but that doesn't mean it didn't make a difference

Why not organise one? as you know the area, you know the best roads and any nice pubs.

as SkodiRS said. drop VrStu a pm as he live around that way as you won't be coming this evening.

I read an article recently which stated EGR on diesels greatly reduces NOx emmisions. You need a regenerating particulate filter to get rid of the sooties though.

I've read that turning down EGR can make the engine respond more readily below 2K rpm. Downside is your car will produce more NOx. Dunno if this is a problem for MOTs as I've not had a diesel car long enough to worry about MOTs.

J.

I'm in Fareham as stated Jason.

Gimme a shout if you want something sorted.

Jeff are you bringing your lappy or should I put mine in the boot??
