What is the meaning of 1U-W-061000

Featured Replies

Following from my thread  steering rack leaking where a part number changes before and after this number can someone explain how to interpret 1U-W-061000 ?

1U = Platform

Look at the VIN, it will start TMBER......

The bit your interested in is from 1U onwards, if your number is higher or lower then 061000 that dictates the part you need.

Just the same as these recalls on the Gov website for the Octy MK1.

http://www.dft.gov.uk/vosa/apps/recalls/searches/search.asp?cboStartMonth=1&cboStartYear=1980&cboEndMonth=1&cboEndYear=2010&cboMake=SKODA&cboModel=OCTAVIA&cboSortOrder=rec_launch_date&cboAscDesc=ASC&PageSize=10&tx=&Search=Search

So if your VIN number is less than chassis number 1UW061000 you need 164

JPR8165 for higher than 1UW061001
