Fabia 1 glow plug warning issue

Featured Replies

Had a look and can't see anything on this. This morning, I put keys in as normal and switched on as normal ,to let glow plug light go out before starting. Then started OK.Few seconds later ( if it went out at all) light is back on and flashing. First thing that comers to mind is relay sticking (car is 04 ,mileage 85k, but mostly all short runs) .Q1 -POSSIBILITY ?. Q2 - location of relay ,as my Haynes ( if it gives it ) has disappeared.

Brake light switch failed

I have had the same problem with my car fabia tdi 1.6 seven times since I bought it one and a half years ago.

As I type this my car is in the skoda garage yet again but each time they say it's fixed a couple of months later it doe it again.

It was the turbo pressure sensor the first time the second time it was the egr valve loom chaffing.

The 3rd time it was flashing but would not start skoda assit got it started but could not find a fault.

The 4th time was the same thing it went into the dealers for 1 week but could not replicate the problem so I got it back.

The 5th time it was the turbo pressure sensor again.6th time wouldn't start could not get it to do it again.

Then yesterday the turbo pressure sensor again skoda assit said it must be something else the guy checked all the conecting and there is no corosion he left the fault code for the garage to see. He can't get to the bottom of the problem.

I have really lost faith in the car now I, m just hoping this time they find whats been causing these problems.

I hope urs is a quick fix un like mine.I only have 3 months warranty left.

I believe the glow plug light flashes as a generic warning i.e. not about just the glow plugs.

need to plug in VAG Com /VCDS to diagnostic port and look for the specific fault code(s)

Check whether both brake lights bulbs have blown.

Would be nice if both brake lights have failed. Will try in morning.

UPDATE- tried brake lights first thing- both & HL one OK. Switched on and back to normal. No problems all day . Hoping it was an intermittent glitch that set a fault code and after fault went, ECU did a reset., possibly caused by brakes being on when ign switched on.
