16's or 17's on a VRS octavia?

Featured Replies

I'm looking around for some wheels that I can put some winter rubber on.

I can find plenty of 16 inch VAG wheels, but for some reason I can't help but think that 16's won't fit.

Will 16's fit on the octavia vrs or do I need a minimum size of 17 inch?

Cars an 08 with 18's on.

Thanks in advance .

16" rims will fit a 08 Vrs    Tyre size 205/55/16.

Hope that helps

As long as they will fit over the calipers you will be fine because you can just fit bigger tyres. However you are sacrificing a bit of handling ;)

You don't say which version Octy you have.

16" will fit over 312mm brakes on a MK2.

Mk3 has 340mm rotors & is minimum 17"

If you are running 16" then I strongly recommend either 205/60r16 or 215/55r16.

I've had 16s, 17s & 18s and for normal tootling around you won't lose huge amounts of handling

16" Wheels will fit an 2008 Octavia vRS with no problems, I used 16" Audi wheels through 3 winters without any problems.

Assuming you have standard front brakes that is (Ø312mm).

They don't look pretty though:
