Front passenger window not as you think

Featured Replies

So when I got the car the window wasn't working and I could hear a lovely grinding noise so I knew it was the reg so anyway I changed the reg and motor today with one from a scrappy and all was well and fine with the door card off window goes up and down with out problem put the door card on and didn't work also the drivers switch set doesn't work that window and when it was the window would still work with the ignition off and key out as well the other 3 still work perfectly fine also took the door card off to make sure wasn't pinching any wires or anything spent couple hours putting door card on n off same problem if Any1 has any suggestions would be grand ta

They suffer with corrosion in the multi plug on the window motor, also have a habit of snapping wires in the rubber boot between 'A' pillar and door. Also was the part number exactly the same on the new motor as the old one? Try the old motor see if that cures it first. Hope that helps?

I would recheck the loom connector to the switch panel for a poor connection, also, is there any chance you may have trapped the loom under the the door handle screws and pinched it when reassembling?, it is easy to do if not careful.

Seems strange to have worked with the card off and not on, either you have a poor loom connector, a broken or freshly trapped wire in the loom or has already been mentioned, a corroded motor unit. To be fair if it was motor pin corrosion, I would have thought it would not work with the card off as well.

Hope it helps
