2 year lease - fully maintained?

Featured Replies

Had a quote for just £10/month for full maintenance on the Superb 3.

Apparently if it's applied to a 3 year contract, it zooms up to nearly £40!

This is swinging me back towards the 2 year option - the last undecided option for me.

£10 (so £290 over 2 years) seems like a reasonable deal. I guess I need to check the small print. Obviously punctures and the like would not be covered.

I guess there must be some linkage to mileage? My MkII told you when it needs servicing and it depended upon how its driven so if the contract is linked to time only it could be a good deal for high mileage users as it could cover several services???

You need to get a copy of the T&C's. My car is fully maintained & all tyres / punctures are included :)

It will depend which company it is with.

What mileage is the lease, and is petrol, or dirty diesel ?

If diesel, does it include periodic adblue top-ups or is this like fuel, your responsibility and cost

Some people only do a few thousand miles per year, so after 2 years might only have a single light service and oil change, add the third year and the second service (which is bigger) adds to the price.

If they charge you 29 x £10 = £290 for 24 months then sounds like you are paying extra 5 months servicing, or you didn't explain it quite correctly.

Well, I presume that, like the extra toys, they amortise over the "29" months of the 6+23 contract.

Otherwise, I think I'd be looking at a 1 year service of £100 and a 2 year service of £200.

It's diesel.

A major service is £259 alone so I reckon that's a good deal considering you might need a pair of front tyres before 20,000 miles is reached.

I wonder what tread level merits a change?

The BVRLA fair wear and tear guidelines suggest that the tyres merely need to be legal. Having said that, if mine get a down to between 3 - 2 millimetres before the end of my two year lease I'll be asking for them to be changed.
