When the Yeti was launched, it was one of the first arrivals at the new 'Medium SUV Club'. It was the guy who wasn't sure what the dress code for the new club was, put on what he thought was right, and although different to the other clubbers, he wasn't inappropriately dressed and with his engaging personality fitted right in and was really popular with the girls.

However, the club became really popular and a fairly conservative dress code became established and is rigorously enforced. Even if the 'EU type approval' bouncers let you in, you will still need to be dressed in the right gear, or you will never 'pull'.

Even 'Duster' a bin man goes to the club, he gets his gear from Primark, but although it's cheap and won't last or wash well, it looks right. Nonetheless, he still 'pulls' because he has a muscular fit looking body albeit she's a bit of a slapper. (The fit body and cheap gear won't last, but what the hell, a shag is a shag and the slapper is only after a 'one night stand').

In the meantime, Yeti is still attending the club, but has bought a new set of gear from Next. He is still pulling some decent birds, but the really fit and classy talent is now being pulled by his cousin 'Q3' with his metrosexual looks and his designer gear.

Yeti has to now decide if he is going to find another new club, or continue attending the current one, conform to the dress code and keep buying new clothes according to the current fashion.

My head has been turned by the new American/Italian guy on the scene 'Renegade'

He looks really cool but I suspect its a passing phase and he'll most likely be out of favour in a few years. He drinks a bit more than Yeti and doesn't have quite the same oomph if you know what I mean. I think its because he's a bit heavier so not so light on his feet.

 

I am a bit concerned that Yeti will change his appearance too much though or even depart the scene altogether. I do still have a soft spot for him but I preferred his Goldbergs attire rather than his Next gear. I still smile in his direction though every time I'm at the club with Renegade.

I think someone has spiked the drinks in the Yeti clubhouse.

Issue Number 1,365 of Auto Express,which is end of Aug start of Sept, under their "Coming Soon" item it lists under Suvs Skoda Yeti+2  2016.

That has been listed there for ages- 2 years at least.

Sitting waiting for deals on the run out models

I thought that VAG were going to make a 5 seat Yeti SUV "fashionable" type with a big 7 seat job also..................& mainly for the Chinese markets..............

 

 

Should have gone totally 4WD type & not "soft"...................if I want a nice small 4x4 I can get a cross panda which is good, but needs more power.............

 

The "scout" variants are no different to the Yeti then ..............
