Featured Replies

I know there are various version of the Octavia, mk1, mk2, mk2 FL and mk3 but no idea about A5 and 1Z etc. could someone explain to me the variations please as I'm wanting to know what I have before I order the wrong bits.

I have a 2012 2.0 diesel VRS DSG for reference.

You have the same car as me - 1Z?

Cheers Phil

its part of your chassis number which is found on the bottom right of your windscreen amongst other places.

Same as the MB6, EJ9, EK4, FN2, etc in the Civics

Hi CWARD:)

That is not so complicated.

Octavia MK1 is 1U, which means internal platform name of Skoda, so for skoda is Mk1 platform 1U, but not for VW, there is platform A4.

Octavia MK2 is 1Z, but is builts on VW platform A5 ( Golf, Audi A3, Leon)

Octavia MK3 is 5E, correct platform under MQB I don't know
