The black slide on part of my driver's side windscreen wiper broke as the picture shows, I've emailed my local Skoda dealer for advice on where to order one but they nothing on their order catalogue, they suggest i buy a whole wiper which of course they would. Can anyone suggest another alternative?

Yes,

Go into Skoda Specialist Cars John Clark in Aberdeen and ask at Reception that the Warranty Manager or Workshop Manager looks at the broken wiper and sends it off to Skoda UK to see if Skoda CZ have bought in poor parts that are not up to the job.

 

They can get you a replacement from the Parts Department and if you need a whole wiper they can refund you once they get a reply back from Skoda UK.

Had a chat with them in Aberdeen, "consequential damage" was the reason why they couldn't offer a replacement under warranty, I wasn't about to waste my time arguing the toss about it to the guy. As that bit of plastic is bonded to the wiper blade  I couldn't just get that single part it had to be the whole blade.

 I've therefore superglued the part together with the underside also having a couple of strips of duct tape for added support and its feel solid without any visible difference.
