Probably been covered a million and one times already but its driving me mad!

Cigarette lighter/socket is knackered. Already tried it with the rear window lock on/off.

Any other suggestions?

Gunna check fuses tomorrow.. which one is it and is there a relay? If so what amp.

Have you tried more than accessory in the socket? I had the same issue and found it was the small glass fuse in an accessory plug.

Have you connected anything other than the ciggy lighter and USB charger to it that could have blown it?

 

Could be that your cigarette lighter has a short circuit and has caused the fuse to blow. If they work in the way I expect (nichrome wire) then you could measure the resistance of it with a multi-meter - using some basic equations if the resistance is less than 1 ohm I'd definitely replace your ciggy lighter. Might try measuring mine later out of interest.

Only had the car a fortnight. Tried new fuses earlier today with no effect. It lights up just gives no action... so annoying.

If the thing you're plugging into the 12V socket is lighting up then your 12V socket is working...

Yeah it does light up very rarely. Got my head done in.
