Ibiza owner help required - G266 Oil level & temp sensor

Featured Replies

Yes I know its a skoda forum :)

Im wondering if theirs any Ibiza owners on here who has VCDS (lite or full) to check something for me.

Open VCDS - go to instrument cluster - Group 3. Can you look to see what values are listed?

After checking the fabia ASZ uses the same oil temp/level senor in the oil pan however the cluster isn't coded for it. So I coded mine tonight but its only showing a fixed value.

Can give you a photo of that from my Polo tomorrow if you like unless it has to be an Ibiza?  I'm not sure I understand what you want quite ? I get a believable oil temperature, and I guess an oil level OK (or an actual measurement in mm maybe?) as far as I recall from looking at this stuff a few days ago. I think there are some other MBs with min and max oil levels and average level since last service etc.

Hi Wino. That would be great. I only said Ibiza as I know they have an oil temp display (along with voltage) on the cluster. Wasn't sure about the polo.

Also if anyone has a maxidot fabia that would be good to see.

Funnily enough, my Polo doesn't have any display of oil temp (no MFA, let alone maxidot) so the sensor outputs are only gonna give me low-oil-level warning light, I guess.

If I hadn't looked at either the sump, or VCDS, I wouldn't have known I even had the sensor. :D

Mine wasn't coded for oil level only oil pressure.

I find myself wondering if many Mk2 vRS 'oil burner' owners are aware that they may be able to watch oil levels this way, potentially logging them long term?

Excellent thanks. Would you check to see what coding number you cluster has?

Ah, I didn't think to record that, but did take it in at a glance. Does 01441 make any sense? It was something close to that, I think.

Edit: yep, it is that, just looked at a previous full scan. :)
