First Service - 1000 miles grace?

Featured Replies

I purchased a Black Edition Citigo on the 23rd of October 2014, and it's coming up to its first service at 10'000 miles / 12 months (whichever comes first). With regards it coming up to 10'000 miles I've been informed by a Skoda branch that there is 1'000 miles grace miles-wise - that the service doesn't have to be completed on 10'000 exactly - that it's still under warranty as long as the service is completed before 11'000 at the latest.

Has anyone heard of this before?

Kind regards -
GreyBear.

Yes, it's been discussed before, running past the mileage / time interval by a small amount isn't an issue.

If you ring a very busy dealer tomorrow to book a car in for service it can sometimes be up to 2 weeks before a free slot is available. Those that cover a few hundred miles or more a day would quickly fall foul of any stringent rules on excess mileage.

When you consider the service indicator flags up well in advance and counts you down there isn't much excuse, but it still happens from time to time.

We used to run several Audi's on our fleet. Lazy drivers with busy calendars and sales targets to hit would often be a couple of thousand miles past service intervals and we never had any issues with warranty claims.

Can a Citigo be on Variable Servicing & not Fixed at 9,400 Miles (10,000) 372 Days. ?

But this one was Set to Fixed at the PDI.

Or are they all Fixed Service Oil - Filter Servicing?
